WHO WE ARE:
We are Lynette Skynyrd, an all female tribute band, honoring the legendary Southern Rock band, Lynyrd Skynyrd. This is an excellent opportunity for the right chyck! We are a working band with a booking agent and management. This is a “step in” situation as we are not a start-up band (obviously, we know there will be a learning-the-material period...but we need a fast learner). Lynette Skynyrd has a solid six year history of playing & gigging together. We LOVE what we do and have a blast together. Having fun is a requirement...but so is hard work!
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
1.) Our ideal candidate must be a bad ass female who has the chops, discipline and attitude of a professional drummer. This music is often misinterpreted as "simple, standard rock & roll", but in fact, it is often syncopated with other key instruments; guitars/bass/vocals and even keyboards, and has proven to be extremely difficult for those not not up to the task.
For the Lead Vocal Role - We need a female 'Ronnie Van Zant'; a rich alto voice that can push and cut through a (3) Guitar Army; a gal who can emulate Ronnie's stage persona and unique vocal phrasing; someone who can command attention center stage, but know's when to step aside for the 'Guitar Army' when appropriate.
For Keyboards, we're looking for our Female version of "Billy Powell', a gal that cover the persona and musical style of Billy; a gal who can boldly handle the piano solos, and tastefully fill in the keyboard color in the background, if you have classical training, you will certainly find this helpful with 'Billy Powells' style. 2.) Someone who is willing to really listen to the music, and learn the parts as accurately to the original as possible. (We will provide mp3s with the arrangements and versions that we do.) 3.) Can work easily and effectively at home on their own and come to rehearsal prepared. 4.) An individual who is readily available for rehearsals, gigging and travel. (travel is absolutely mandatory) 5.) Someone who is a team player and plays well with others. 6.) Ideally this lady would have a basic knowledge and/or develop an appreciation of the music of Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Again, we are looking for a serious musician and permanent band member who would be willing to make Lynette Skynyrd a top priority once a commitment has been made. If anything that we have said scares you or turns you off, you are not our gal, so please do not respond.
