I started on guitar but have devoted myself to mandolin for the last 10 years. I jam a lot and play in a gigging band now but I have room for another. I have a great ear and although I sing, I am definitely NOT a frontman. I work hard at my instrument and I believe that while being in a band is about as much fun as a guy can have, it is mostly fun when you have the sense that you're improving as a band. A band is like a garden in that you have to tend and nurture it. Gimme a call if you need a mandolin to help you cultivate your garden.

Influences
David Grisman, Mike Marshall, Chris Thile, RIcky Skaggs, Bill Monroe, Don Stiernberg, Jethro Burns, (and a ton of other mandolinists you've never heard of!). I grew up with the Beatles, Eagles, Dan Hicks, Grateful Dead, but then I veered off into beebop and swing. These days I'm listening to a lot of acoustic music a la Tim O'Brien, Bryan Sutton, Wailin' Jenny's (Strawberry Music Festival type stuff). I love all kinds of music including motown, R&B, swing, jazz, etc. so I am under the influence of all music!

I Believed in Ya Darlin' Year: 2013 Album: Sweet By and By Demo Genre: Bluegrass
This is not my best work by a long shot, but it happens to be the one song that I've recorded that has lots of mandolin in it. Think of it as an hors d'oeuvres.
