ABOUT

Born in Fort Defiance Arizona on the Navajo Reservation and re rooted here in California at the age of 2 yrs old, I witness the last drive in Burger stand I believe in Downy Ca, where young ladies would come and get your order on roller skates and hang it outside of your car door, the 60’s walkouts at Lincoln High, Watts Riots, Sylmar Earthquake, and my High School alma mater finally getting lights on the football field in 2005! Yes I could say I seen a lot in the days gone by.

Influences

My musical ventures started on Coral St in Lincoln Heights, just a few miles northeast of Downtown Los Angeles in 1968 with a band called the Clues we only had one song at the young age of 8 or 9 but we played the Crap! out of it, until we got complaints to stop! I was the bongo player! from there I played with the Lincoln High School Marching Band and also with the Jazz Band, after school with local bands like Mixed Breed in Lincoln Heights ( Johnny Blas) and Samurai! a disco type group out of Montecito Heights, I also rocked out with Electric Koolaid ( Ramon Rodriguez ) and who can’t forget The Lotus Band with "Mind expanding" overtones! ( Julian Martinez L.A. Faultline ) along the way to see the wizard I would always run into that sound guy that would tell me that I couldn't get the bass and the rhythm guitar on my monitor because ITS ONLY FOR VOCALS! GREAT! That would tick me off! So I started to drag along my own sound system, that got bigger and bigger and that's how Tribal Sound Reinforcement was born! I attain a Audio Engineers Certification from the Los Angeles Recording Workshop in North Hollywood Ca 1999.
I have worked sound in the past 30 years for groups like: Familia, Wise guys, Redbone, Evelyn "The Champagne" King, Tierra, Tierra featuring Steve Salas (Good to see the Bros performing on the same stage once again!) Micheal Wolfe ( Arsenio Hall’s music director) El Chicano, Malo, Poncho Sanchez, Balance, B-Side Players, L.A. Faultline, Sol, Atzlan Underground, Home Grown, Latin Misfits, Elija Blue, East L.A.
