Native Texan Mario de la Torres came to the blues via Tejano, rock, classical, metal, and Christian music. He began playing guitar in Navasota the official blues capitol of Texas and performed at Texas World Speedway concerts, regional concert events, and opened for major artists.
A prayer and a supernatural encounter with God changed his life. Mario' nueva vida included working with Phillips Craig and Dean, pop diva Mikaila, Ted Pearce, Dorothy Norwood, Cynthia Green, and DayStar television.
"Human Sacrifice" with Big Methuselah was Mario' first recording. The band was featured in "7 ball" Top 20 Unsigned Artists Who Rock along with platinum music artists Mercy Me and Pillar. A second CD with a Fort Worth praise and worship leader followed in 2002. Mario released his first instrumental CD "Sojourn" in 2005. "Sojourn" featured a unique blend of Santana style guitar with electronica soundscapes. Stand out cuts include "Anthony" and "AWT." Over the next few years Mario continued recording instrumental CDs and performed at various events and venues in the Dallas area including Dallas Southside Arts festival and Deep Ellum.
In 2010 Mario began work on his blues-rock CD "New Beginnings" which was released in 2012. Stand out cuts include "King Jesus" and "Seasons".
Mario de la Torres' live concert events are always fresh and always real.
