I am presently trying out the Ashland community band since it is closest to me at this time.
Ideally, I would prefer to play alto sax in a band that plays big band style music, from benny goodman, artic shaw, Louis Armstrong, etc. I play rags on piano but I use piano as a solo instrument. I was with the john payne music center some time ago but I do not have a car at this writing, so I am looking for something easy to get to. I have done some improvisation but I need more experience here.
