I lean towards players that are foundational but are also melodic in their approach. Players like Harvey Brooks, Pino Palladino, James Jamerson, as well as more pocket players who keep the song moving and support the band/vocalist - like Kevin McCormick, Bob Glaub.

Fender Precision, Jazz (fretted & fretless), Lakland Jazz, I use GK amps primarily. For remote recording I use Universal Audio interfaces and Pro tools.
