I'm currently putting together a band from scratch. I'm looking for an amazing guitar player, drummer, keyboards, trombone or trumpet player.. or both. And maybe even a 2nd bass player. I'm going for a sort of Buzzcocks / Stiff Little Fingers meets New Order vibe, with a heavy emphasis on Brit Pop bands like Blur and The Wedding Present.
And at the same time, I'm totally into seeing what happens with a handful of extremely talented musicians with their own unique style. So who knows WTF it's going to end up sounding like? But that's the beauty of what I'm trying to create! Something one-of-a-kind. And something 100% original.
Think... Late 70s, early 80s British Punk Rock esthetics. Electronica sensibilities. Stylish arrangments. Lush production values. And catchy as hell tunes. Which I've got!
Me??? I've been playing in bands for over 40 years.
I'm a self-taught punk rock bass player. But I was classically trained on upright bass in the high school orchestra and on tuba in the high school marching band.
The first five audio tracks are all my own songs. The first song I wrote and sang with my band The Factory in 1981. 2nd song is something I wrote and collaborated on while I was living in Amsterdam in 2012 with a friend of mine on guitar and vocals. The third tune is a rough mix from my LA band, The Condors in 2005. The fourth track is the final mix of the same song with trumpet. The fifth track is from my old band Strangeways. And the sixth track is one of my favorite songs from the Dutch band I was playing with back in Amsterdam in 2015. I didn't write it, but I played the shit out of it! And I also produced the album that this song was taken from.
