A genuine, sincere human being knows that without humility they will never reach their full potential. Humbling oneself, and being open minded is one of the key fundamental principles when it comes to acquiring knowledge.
Over the years, I have witnessed God given talented artist plateau or stagnate because without this key they never unlock the door that will rocket them into their next dimension of learning. Speaking only for myself I had to learn that key was acceptance, and it was a very humiliating experience. I had to truly look at myself and accept the fact that there will always be someone bigger, faster, stronger with a lot more swag.
No matter how talented I was, there was almost always somebody who could convey their craft better than I could. So I learnedLook to those who are better and consider the potential for improvement.
So I learned to redirect those feelings that paralyzed my learning curve, and look up to those chosen few as teachers. Being in the presence of gifted individuals, or anyone with a sincere passion was potentially an opportunity for my improvement. Because the way I see it, if inspiration were to randomly fall from the sky, practicing humility, and keeping an open mind, will forever prepare me to fully embrace this wondrous, natural phenomenon.
