SEEKING
Band to Join.ABOUT
Personal:
Male. Physically fit. Active Lifestyle. Chemical free.
Non-competitive.
Professional attitude. Good organizational skills.
Status:
Retired from the workforce; Looking to join or form a working band.
I’m up for regional travel. Possibly extensive travel in the future.
I'm currently with a forming original band based in Kenmore. We're kind of a fusion of Fleetwood Mac and Bob Dylan.
Style:
Fluid, trance-like, rhythmic and melodic in a simple way. Good sense of time.
Three types of music influence my playing style:
Jazz/Lounge as per Bargrooves and St. Germain.
Psychedelic/Space Rock as per Wooden Shjips and Lunar Dunes.
Eastern influenced dance beats as per Desert Dwellers.
Sound:
Deep, crisp and clean. Bi-amped rig. 4-string Bass.
Pick or fingers; some Flange or Chorus.
History:
Raised on the Grateful Dead, Santana and the Rolling Stones.
Toured with a lounge act in the 80s.
Did not play in the 90s. Picked the bass back up in 05.
In and out of cover bands since then.
Other:
• Vocals: Baritone/Tenor, moderate range. Able to find harmonies.
I sing lead vocals in a few songs and would like to grow in this area.
• Electronics: I know my way around a mixing board pretty well. I know preamps & power amps; watts, ohms, volts & amps; parametric & graphic EQ; crossovers, frequency response….
• I read chord charts and struggle through tab charts.

I sing the lead vocal and play the bass on this one by Neil Young. This was recorded during a practice session using one mic. The guys are just learning the song and we are trying out a new drummer.
