60s/70s, some 80s ok - familiar, fun, interesting, not too over-played material. One or two hit wonders, 60s garage, British invasion, surf, tropic, Woodstock, psychedelic, bubblegum, yacht/soft rock, new wave, etc. or some combination. Not really interested in typical "classic rock" (think FM 97.1 The Drive). I'm also not much of a vocalist, though I may be able to add some back-up/harmony. Open to simply fun side project/jams. I am 63. NW/W suburbs. marty3dj y.a.h.u... Thanks.

The most influential player on me was Gary Thain who played bass for Uriah Heep back in the early 70s. Of course, I enjoy and appreciate many other bassists. Some of the bands I like: in addition to Uriah Heep are The Guess Who, Grass Roots, America, Moody Blues, Alice Cooper, Beatles, Styx, Cowsills, Monkees, DC5, Devo, Steely Dan, Blue Oyster Cult, No Doubt, Elvis Costello & The Attractions, XTC, Deep Purple, Joe Jackson, Rush, The Jam, ZZ Top, Three Dog Night, Roxy Music..

Decent gear and transportation. 4 string, 5 string and acoustic basses. I am retired and have plenty of time to pick up material outside of practice. Also have some PA and lighting gear as well.
