ABOUT

Looking for a new drummer for my band Major Wheeler. Our current drummer is moving and can't stay with the band. We are a piano-centric trio that currently plays cover songs and ideally at some point will incorporate some originals (I'm a songwriter). We are arranged similar to Ben Fold Five with hard rocking piano as the lead, lots of fuzz bass (our bassist is incredible) and solid drums. We play a huge range of covers. Some well known and some are just cool tunes. We have a full show prepared (30+ songs) and were aiming to start going live this summer. Looking for a drummer who can get up to speed quickly. We only practice once a week and work independently in between, so not looking for a lot of time commitment. I have an electric drum set we use at our rehearsal area (shows would be acoustic though).

Ideal drummer would be experienced and able to get up to speed quickly. Good with improvising and rocking out as needed. Ideally early 40's or 30's, and ability to do backups would be a huge bonus. Could use someone who can do high range in 3 part harmonies.

EQUIPMENT

I prefer to play acoustic pianos at a venue, but I do have pianos at home as well as a Roland FP-60, Yamaha Motif and Amps and PA System. Electric Drum Kit, microphones, Lots of hand drums and misc. instruments as well, but those aren't really needed for what I'm looking to do with this.
