Blending the sweet simplicity of an acoustic sound with an upbeat and soulful vibe, MKB is at home playing an eclectic collection of tunes that span genres and decades. This group of bay area musicians, originally hailing from Reno, San Francisco, New York and Novato, is skilled in playing funky, bluesy pop that gets the dance floor thumping. But don’t let the groove fool you. The Matt Kizer Band can also deliver a folksy power ballad with all the heart-wrenching allure of Night Ranger. They are a favorite at local beer gartens, bars, and food truck gatherings, or anywhere that people want to eat, drink, and look at beautiful middle-aged people.

Vocalist and baritone ukulele player, Matt Kizer, is a proud member of Actor’s Equity Association and has trained his resonant baritone voice in styles that range from opera to rock. Robert Rangel anchors the beat with his masterful conga playing, which has been heard alongside John Santos, Orestes Vilato and Los Lobos. Guitarist Eileen Grady, who bears a striking resemblance to Mountain Play Associate Producer, Eileen Grady, also plays banjo, drums and the egg shaker. Lending his soloing skills, guitarist Carlos Delgado, is a veteran of several 90's hair bands as well as session and demo work in Los Angeles. Bassist Dillon Gradl attended The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York City, and brings his electric and upright bass playing to several groups in the area. Filling in the gaps with groove is organist Kevin Gerzevitz, a classical pianist and composer of contemporary music.
