Band to Join.

What up. I'm 31, and I play bass guitar primarily. I am looking to broaden my musical horizons a bit by playing with other people. I've been playing music since I was in the 5th grade, so this is definitely my life's passion, and I want to do more with it. ("What a man can do, he must do.") I'm mostly into heavy metal nowadays, although I think it would be cool to play other sorts of music as well, just to expand my repertoire.

To be quite honest, I think I have a very good singing voice as well (Rob Halford, Messiah Marcolin, and Dio of course, would be influences there). I don't necessarily want to be lead vocalist, but at the very least I'd be down for backing vocals. I'm also in the process of learning guitar (not to perform, but to understand how a good guitar line is made, so I can take that knowledge and use it to improve my bass-line writing). I've had about 8 months' experience being in a band a few years ago, although things didn't end up working out back then. I'd like to get back into a band at some point, but wanna start simple by just finding folks to jam with. Primarily, because to me the successful bands are going to be groups of friends with similar personalities.
