ABOUT

My name is Matt, and I am starting a new band after my last band split up. I have experience playing live, and have recorded professionally. I love to jam. I am primarily a lead guitar player but I sing well enough to be lead vocals too, if need be. I want to start a new band with a heavy alt rock vibe, with both indie and pop influences mixed in, depending on the song. Think Guns N' Roses mixed with Silversun Pickups and touches of Switchfoot. But those are just ideas on where to start. I'm open to almost anything. And anyone who's ever been in a band knows how hard it is to label what your "sound" is, or what you want it to be.

EQUIPMENT

My main guitars are an Epiphone Les Paul Slash Signature edition, and a Fender Strat. I've also got a Washburn semi-hollow body. Also a pretty good acoustic. And my amp is a Fender Ultra-Chrous. Loud enough for bars and clubs, as proved many times. I like pedals, my main ones being wah and distortion, but I've also got fuzz, chorus, and a looper, and I'm always on the hunt for cool new ones. That's my rig as a guitar player. I've also got an Epiphone Thunderbird bass, an ampeg bass amp (great for jam/practices, not quite stage worthy) a PA that is enough for small venues/coffee houses, and I'm in the process of getting a drum set together. So I have everything needed to get a band going in the rehearsal studio or in terms of writing. Once live shows happen, whatever you play may need to be upgraded depending on whether or not you're relying on my gear.
