I’m on the hunt for talented musicians who are hungry for success and possess a legit passion for rock n roll. In particular, I need at least a couple of guitarists, a bassist, and a drummer. I’ve sung in several local rock bands to critical acclaim and am looking to take this one to the next level (professional recording, touring, making actual money). The plan is to write some material together (I’ve got a bunch of ideas lying around, but want this to be a collaborative effort) and then start playing out as soon as possible. Rehearsal times will be flexible, but showing up is mandatory. If you want to achieve anything in this biz, you have to put the work in – it’s as simple as that!
The ideal artists will be serious about their craft, yet it is rock n roll we’re talkin, so we’ll definitely be having our fair share of fun as well. Optimally, I’m looking for people in their 20s, but if you’re really good/dedicated, that can be stretched a bit in either direction. Since appearances matter nowadays, you should be able to achieve a decent rock look (which usually means being in shape, but if you can pull off the drunken slob look, more power to yah). Some of the artists who have inspired me include Aerosmith, Dio, Guns n Roses, Queensryche, Skid Row, Queen, Genesis, and Motley Crue. At the same time, I’m eager to create something fresh and musically relevant for today, so if you’re into different styles that you think could mesh, that’s also cool and could actually benefit the creative process. I’m just not looking to become a death metal band or a whiny punk band (although some punk influence is definitely cool). My philosophy is the music should be catchy but maintain that rock n roll edginess throughout.
