My Name is Matt Bordenkircher. I am from Mt. Sterling, IL. I am currently supporting myself as a full-time musician with the country group highway 99. We have been together for almost two years now and have been playing at least 4 gigs a month every month during that time. I played some wineries and bars before that with just my dad. The group consists of me as lead vocalist, rhythm guitar, and lead guitar, and loop station, Hannah Wort on lead vocals and mandolin, and my dad Steve Bordenkircher on lead vocals and lead guitar. We have been plying all types of venues for the past two years. We have been playing anything from fall festivals to clubs and wineries. However we are what most people would consider a winery band and I am looking to upgrade from that status by adding more musicians such as a drummer(instead of pre-recorded beats on a loop station), bass, lead guitar, fiddle, and maybe some others. We are looking to increase the energy and entertainment of our show so that we can play bigger venues and entertain a younger crowd better. We have gathered a very large fan base over the past few years and have lots of contacts for venues to play. We have played fm 95's labor day celebration for the past two years and have had quite of bit of radio airtime and exposure associated with that. We are very committed to pursuing and career in the country music industry and amping up our show in order to do so. Our limitations as a group have held us back somewhat in that we don't always play music we would like to such as the rockin side of country...jason aldean..eric church..miranda lambert..and hopefully we find some musicians to help us do that.
