Hi! I'm an Albuquerque-based singer/songwriter who is trying to break out of the singer/songwriter scene by forming a band to play my original tunes. My style is upbeat, energetic and rhythmic. My songs are introspective and defined by groove. I am looking for solid, versatile players who, ideally, are better than me in order to give my songs the best-possible life. Ideally, those players are also a good hang. Does this describe you?
I am looking to form a full band, but would also love to find musicians who can fit into duo/trio configurations. I play lots of shows as a solo act, but I could play lots more with a combo. Are you interested? Please let me know what you think. Thank you for reading! Also, if you're interested in learning more about me, I encourage you to visit my website, mattkollock.

Theme From The Matt Kollock Show
Theme From The Matt Kollock ShowThis is the theme song for my podcast, "The Matt Kollock Show." It's fun and a little bit obnoxious. That's the deal. Thanks for listening! Please visit mattkollock.com to learn more and check out patreon.com/mattkollock to support me with dollars.
Talking To Mice Elf
Talking To Mice ElfThe title was inspired by Sly and the Family Stone's "Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin)." I mean, this song is fine. It's got some cool stuff. This is from 2004-ish when I was writing and recording as Ajax The Dog.
Get Down Get Well
Get Down Get WellI had to sell my electric guitar but I wanted to keep creating music. It was a rough time. I came up with this song and used my old, shitty nylon string guitar for the six-string parts. This came out pretty well. There is a version of this I can't find that features an extended end section I recorded after I borrowed a friend's electric guitar. Just several minutes of masturbatory guitar soloing. I can't find it. But that's okay. This is from 2004-ish.
Carson Daly Performs Sexual Favors For Executives In Order To Maintain His Undeserved Status
Carson Daly Performs Sexual Favors For Executives In Order To Maintain His Undeserved StatusNot really a song as much as it is a reaction against a person who never did anything to me. Sorry, Carson Daly. I was young. You're cool. This is from 2004 when I was writing and recording as Ajax The Dog. A fun little trifle from a different time.
CurrencyI recorded this as Ajax The Dog back in about 2004. This one reeks of the George W. Bush era, doesn't it? I like what this one does, harmonically. Some good parts. I wish I would have worked harder on the vocals. Not bad, though!
Maximum YouFrom my time as Ajax The Dog. This is from 2004-ish. The title was inspired by the Elmore Leonard novel "Maximum Bob." The music was inspired by the Pixies' "Bone Machine." Stuff like that. Garageband.com (remember that site?) named this their "Track of the Day" one day. Probably what sunk them.
In Our Heads
In Our HeadsFrom the Ajax The Dog days (2004-ish). I threw together a bunch of random guitar takes and came up with a song
AftershaveAn oldie (but a goodie????) from my days as Ajax The Dog. This is from about 2004, I think. Back when I lived in a little apartment in Madison, Wisconsin. I did everything on this one, for better or for worse. It was recorded, edited, mixed and mastered in ProTools. I used Reason for all instruments other than guitars and vox. Thanks for listening!
I return to the Red Door Candelaria stage to play my most Septembery songs. BE THERE!
One more Saturday night in the summer at Two Cranes Bistro & Brew! This is one of my favorite places to perform in ABQ. I hope you can join me!
I will be performing from 6:00-6:50 pm. This is an excellent little music festival that takes place in a beautiful section of rural New Mexico.
The festival begins at 4:00 pm and concludes at 8:00 pm. Just $10 gets you a pass for the whole day of music and fun. See you there!
I return to the lovely patio at Two Cranes Bistro & Brew for a Sunday afternoon performance. Be there!
