Hello,

My name is Matt and I live in Lincoln Park. I sang, wrote the songs and played bass in original punk bands throughout HS/College. In my 20s I played a few dozen original acoustic shows around the Midwest. I'm now 34 and have a lot of songs written, but no outlet.

So I'd like to start an original rock band. I would play acoustic/rhythm guitar and be the primary singer/songwriter, so I'm in need of a strong lead guitar player, a bass player and a drummer at minimum. I'm also open to anything else (keyboards, steel guitar, harmonica, fiddle, etc.). I don't currently have a practice space, so access to one would be helpful.

Petty/Springsteen/Ryan Adams/Jason Isbell is what I have in mind, but I'm truly open to any possibilities.

This is probably my last shot, so I'd like to commit to writing a record, playing some local shows and then seeing what happens. If you're willing to commit to practicing a couple of times per week, playing shows on weekends, and recording a record ... I look forward to you reaching out.

EQUIPMENT

As a long-time bass player (not guitar), I've never invested in guitar equipment. So I currently just have a Takamine electric acoustic with an acoustic amp, and a Fender Telecaster electric.

I will obviously invest in show/studio worthy guitar equipment for this band when necessary.
