Looking to organize a band with the end goal of gigging (more for fun than money, but money is nice too) around the Denver area. My intent is to find 3 or 4 other musicians who are musically competent or better, have excellent rhythm and a good musical ear. I'd like to develop a cohesive, professional sound and then gig once/month or so down the road (maybe twice/month or more depending how it goes - I'm flexible).
I'm 35 and work a full time non-music profession. I'd like to find other musicians in a similar situation: want to play and gig but aren't trying to be the next big thing, are responsible and accountable, have some money for equipment needs and aren't worrying about making money off the gigs (that's just a bonus). You get the picture.

Influences
Almost everything. Not sure what genre I'd like to play and am totally open to whatever works. I know I want it to be a style that is popular in order to get gigs/crowds. I'm very percussion-oriented though I play mostly guitar.

I'm considering purchasing (and learning) keyboards soon. I also am willing and able to spend some money on other equipment needs as they may arise in order to be sure I/we have a professional sound.
