Upright Bassist and Drummer Wanted!

Practice space available in Williamsburg, Brooklyn weekly (free for you).

Guitarist/Songwriter seeking drums and bass for Max Jukes and the mp3, a traditional-inspired but high-energy rockabilly-inspired combo that incorporates the best elements of the genre and its influences. Not a '50s tribute/Happy Days/Sha Na Na thing, but loud, wild rockabilly, rock and roll, and gutbucket blues shouters, 50s R&B, and hillbilly bop.

Looking for a stripped-down but raw, primitive sound--drums can be as sparse as a snare/cymbal if need be...Tea chest bass? Cool. Just looking for a real, genuine traditional rockabilly/blues sound.

I've included a lot of influences below. HOWEVER: I have written many originals over the years, and am looking to perform them live and eventually record them. So--the intent here is not a cover band, but one that does mainly originals peppered here and there with well-chosen/fun covers.

Goal is to play paying gigs, rockabilly/roots festivals, and to eventually tour here and abroad if and when possible. Above all, though, the purpose is to have fun, go wild onstage and play that crazy heathen devil's music. Originals peppered with well-chosen covers. Have been a gigging and occasionally touring lead guitarist with a few bands for 20 years, now looking to get some kicks by trying something different. For more information, see the band's website,
