Mel Dalton

Vocalist, Vocalist - Bass, Vocalist - Tenor, Vocalist - Soprano, Violin, Saxophone, Keyboard, Piano, Background Singer, Banjo, Mandolin, Fiddle, Dobro, Steel guitar, Cello.

Professional musician with 30 years experience performing live and doing studio work. I am presently part of the 5-pc. band "Northwest Chill" playing covers and originals all over Western Washington. As a solo artist based in northern Idaho, I perform an acoustic blend of originals and covers at local family-oriented events.

I'm very easy-going, able to work will all different musical styles and personality types, and am happy to play (good) originals and share lead singing. However, I will not work with divas, slackers, or walking egos, and while I like to have a good time and I respect other people's right to the same, I will not tolerate substance abusers. Music is a serious business for me and I expect it to be the same for anyone I play with.

I'm having a great time doing this for a living! (Can you say BEST JOB IN THE WORLD?!?) You can find me all over the web and social media by searching for Mel Dalton Music or Northwest Chill Music.

My musical taste is varied; I will sing Pat Benatar and AC/DC, then switch to Leann Rimes or Bonnie Raitt, follow a Beatles tune with the Stones, and end with something by the Eagles or Tom Petty. I've been influenced by anything you have heard on the radio since 1950, including a lot of country.

Right now I favor Shannon Brown and Miranda Lambert but perhaps next week I'll be hooked on the Doors! People who hear me most often request my originals "Cadillac" or "January 18 Blues" or covers of "White Rabbit" and "Black Velvet."
