Band to Join.

My Name is Michael and I have been playing off & on for over 25+ years. Back up vocals OK. I can play most any genre and but feel that song selection is key to a band's success. That is to say that most bands I have been in tend to pick their song list based on what they have played before, or can play easily. I feel the most successful bands will write their own style, or play the songs that really define their target genre. Vocals don't need to clone the original, or be Perfect, quality vocals will work, and can reflect the persona of the group, but the rhythm and timing needs to be on Target, That's my job! If you need to stick to easy songs, club owners can use their juke box, and don't need a band at all, or you can just be Another Band. For me, the music should to be quality material to be interesting fun to play, and give the audience a Great Time! I get bored with Mustang Sally, Cocaine, and Margaritaville. If that is your goal, there are lots of bands that can accommodate your playlist.

Motown, ( there is a reason I listed it first) R&B Temptations, Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson, Stones, Beatles, Doors, Cream, Clapton, Doobies, Aerosmith, Van Halen, Allman Brothers, JGiles, Alice Cooper, Classic Rock of the 60's & 70's (Creedence, and all of the Vietnam Era Stuff) the Who, Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, You Know, the stuff that gave birth to Rock n Roll ! Pick the right songs, give them your personal touch, put them in the right order, and you have a real Rock n Roll Show !
