Influences

In my opinion, there are two types of band “money” bands & “egotistical” band. Bands have very complex and unique relationships with so many different goals and personalities among the member. Band members can be analytical, dreamers, passive, very direct (sometimes egotistical), well organized, and/or have a long-term goal. But all band members want to feel appreciated and valued as individuals and bring both positive ideas and energy to the band. A band needs “synergy” these combined activities of the group that meet and discuss plans and goal and can make money, the “money band”. A band with synergy can network with other bands, find the right venue(s), and even diversify by playing gigs at bars & nightclubs, restaurants, weddings, House of Worship events, private events, and even corporate gigs playing music that best fits those venues even when a member(s) does not preforming that song. A “money” band pleases their clients not their personal ego.
An “egotistical” band that wants to play what they love and like with inflated views of thinking the band is better than other bands (superstars), just will not get those booking and will continue to play often and spend more time in the practice room than performing. Clients of bands want to have fun and enjoy the music they like and love. Bar/nightclubs, restaurants, and other venues owners want the same but want to hear that cash register ringing. A band that plays the most complex music, the vocals are spot on, and the arrangement is 100% perfect will not make these owners money if the songs are not what the consumers want to hear.
