I'm a guitarist, drummer, and bassist who was raised on the '60s and '70s concept of "Entertain the Audience." I also try to enhance songs and stay out of the vocalist's way. I was Editor in Chief of GUITAR PLAYER from 1997-2018, so I was lucky enough to interview tons of artists about the do's and don'ts of performing, producing, engineering, getting good tones, and making concert goers happy.
