I've never been in a band, and to be honest I have no idea how this whole process works. I deal with a heavy amount of anxiety, and to be honest I'm worried I would be so nervous that I wouldnt be able to handle the pressure. All I know is that I'm as ready as I'll ever be, in terms of how committed I am to making it as a vocalist. I believe in my voice and my ability to make it at the highest level of musicianship.

Influences
Vocally, I would say my main influences are probably Jeff Buckley, David Bowie, Layne Staley and Stevie Wonder. I don't know how to compare myself to female vocalists, since I'm basically self taught and the only metric I have with which to measure myself are people who I can comfortably imitate. Layne's work with Alice in Chains and Mad Season really convinced me that I can sing in metal, and not pigeonhole myself to indie and folk music. Stevie Wonder for obvious reasons, I think he might be the best singer I've ever heard. As far as my musical influences outside of simply vocals, my tastes range from very soft to very aggressive. Sufjan Stevens is my favorite artist of all time, and other favorites of mine are Kanye West, LCD Soundsystem, Talk Talk and many more.
