CHECK OUT MY MUSIC ON:
My name is Misha and I'm forming a band to back me up. I want to call the act "Jypsy". We play hard rock music that I have written, influenced by classic and contemporary hard rock - from Zeppelin to Aerosmith, Pearl Jam, Jet, the Crowes to Greta and everything in between. We also take music from other cultures (Gypsy, Slavic, Irish, etc.) and rock it up into our own style. I'm working on a demo and full album at the moment, most of which is already written, some of it recorded. I produce music on Logic Pro X and so can handle all parts for recording purposes. Mostly I need a backup band for touring, live performances and for the group image on cover art, etc.
I need a bass player, rhythm guitar player, keyboardist and drummer. If I could get away with one guy as a bassist/keyboardist, that would be great. More loot to go around. Also, at least two of them need to be able to sing backup.
I write hard rock - hooks and riffs. Not interested in being true to some muse, just forging an image and riding it to comfortable retirement.
What I'm interested in, and have studied on and off, is how to get signed by a major label which can handle much of the marketing. I can actually do most of the production myself or, of a label prefers it, work with a professional producer. Labels, however, want an outfit that is up and running with a fan base, producing its own music on EP's, etc. I.e., they want to take on a franchise and maximize its potential if they see it has any.

At this point I only have my own guitar (Brian Moore C55) a Vox amp and a MacBook with Logic Pro on it. I have a mic and audio interface on order. However, I have come into some money and free time (unemployment, etc.) due to the virus thingie and thus can afford to acquire some more equipment like a PA, etc.
I've played dozens of gigs over the years. I was lead guitar in a band back in the 1990's here in Lexington for awhile. But in the end, I didn't like their music that much. Too punk. So I left them after less than a year. Essentially, I want to do my own thing like Fogerty or Springstein. Nonetheless, I am certainly open to the creative input of other artists which is vital to the health and well being of an act.

You Really Got A Hold On Me - XTook the Motown classic and made it hard rock.

I Believe In MusicMac Davis just passed away. I'd been working on this on and off for awhile. Gave it the "treatment".
So Far And Wide (Djelem, Djelem) - USE THIS ONE
So Far And Wide (Djelem, Djelem) - USE THIS ONEThis is the authentic gypsy song "Djelem, Djelem" with the lyrics translated into English and set to a folk rock instrumentation with some gypsy instruments and a gypsy beat. This song was composed by a Romani gentleman who survived the concentration camps. It's in the public domain. It was adopted as the Anthem of the Gypsy Nation in the early 1970's and has been much covered.
