MUMixedMelody
We are Mixed Melody, a co-ed A Cappella student and community organization from Methodist University of Fayetteville, NC.
This organization was formed so that young men and women at Methodist University and in the Cape Fear region with a passion for music and performance, can come together to share musical interests. Mixed Melody is directed toward non-music majors who have multiple commitments in their college life, but who desire to spend a considerable part of their time and energy in music. Mixed Melody also strives to give smaller organizations and especially humanitarian organizations a chance to have a musical group at their functions for little or no cost.
In August of 2013, Mixed Melody was officially formed by TJ Rogers, the group's current music director. Mixed Melody consists of 10 members, both male and female, with a wide variety of majors, campus affiliations, and professions. We pride ourselves on being primarily student and community organized.
We are honored to have the opportunities to sing on campus and in the Cape Fear area. We have been lucky enough to perform gigs like the President's faculty/staff dinner, Hunger banquets, and University beauty pageants, as well as numerous gigs off campus such as FireAntz Hockey, Latitude 35 Bar & Grill, and The Wing Company. Each year we host several concerts on campus at Methodist University.
This year, we would like to audition for the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella, a large scale a cappella competition encompassing numerous college groups across the country and internationally. We are also planning to release our first very EP album in the fall of 2015. In April, we are traveling to Memphis, TN to participate in the National A Cappella Convention. This is a 2 day event that includes professional workshops, seminars, masterclasses, performances and most importantly, opportunities to sing!
We are proud of our accomplishments in our short 1 1/2 years of being an organization and are very appreciative of our supporters. We love to perform for our community and for our campus, and we hope that you'll help us continue to be able to do this by donating to our GoFundMe.
