Hi! I'm a classically trained opera singer wanting to use my big voice in the rock setting.
I have grown up in a family of music: my mom being a professional church musician and my sister as a lead singer of her own rock band. I started learning piano at the age of three, but soon realized once I got a bit older that singing was my talent. I started classical opera training my freshman year of high school, but always envied my older sister quite a bit when she became the lead vocalist of her own band. I've trained myself over the past couple of years while I was getting my business degree at Queens how to control my vibrato when necessary and belt those crazy rock notes.
I have a smule account, and to my ignorance, saw that you can't download the tracks you sing. I have included me singing "Alone" by Heart below. My profile will also include other songs as well from other genres. Granted, I did record these using a mic off of a pair of headphones so my tone will not be exact to the actual tone of my voice, but at least it will be a good judge of pitch, rhythm, dynamics, etc. :)
