I've 35 years playing and creating music. I was 9yr. old when I wrote my first piece, and the only thing I remember is it wasn't very good. I could go on and on about how good the stuff I write now is, but I am a little biased. One thing I know is putting together a good band isn't the hard part, however it sometimes seems impossible, but the hardest part is actually staying together. I am putting together a band, already have a drummer and practice spot. Need a vocalist and bass player. Maybe keys, I'm not sure.
