Mohave Joe

Bass Guitar, Drums.

61 year old guitar player/songwriter.
Let me make it short and sweet. We are a working band with dates coming up. Two shows this week. We need a dependable bass player with at least reasonable chops. We also would prefer being able to read simple, and I mean simple charts that I write myself.
Our niche theme is the Colorado River lifestyle. No politics, no social commentary. This is "not" a cover band project though we do a few, very few cover songs in the set. We are more like Jimmy Buffet than Jimi Hendrix.
My partner and lead guitarist, Dave founded the band.. We have had surprising success with our format.

I was raised playing classical music. Then in 73 I went with friends to see Marshall Tucker and Lynard Skynard. Freebird at my first rock concert. Everything changed.
In the 80,'s I bought my first electric guitar a 73 Fender Telecaster.
In the early 80's I was also introduced to jazz and for three years went back to Clarinet. In the late 80's I was allowed to play guitar with some friends that had a band that was really getting big. I was just starting to write my own songs.
For years I played off and on with a variety of sessions and a lot of cover bands but nothing serious. I started to find myself and create what we have today. Its a good, fun show. We advertise as Family Friendly entertainment. Its a bit of everything. Countryish, rockish, jazzy and beach.
