A trail through Pelham Bay Park offers a journey through diverse landscapes, blending forested paths with coastal scenery. As you begin, the trail winds through woodlands filled with towering oaks, maples, and the occasional pine, offering cool shade and the sounds of rustling leaves and bird songs. As you walk, the forest opens up to reveal salt marshes teeming with wildlife, where herons, egrets, and other shorebirds can be spotted hunting for fish in the shallow waters.

The trail meanders closer to the water, offering glimpses of the sparkling Long Island Sound. You may encounter tidal pools and rocky shores, where the smell of salty air grows stronger. As you approach Orchard Beach, the landscape shifts again to sandy dunes and beach grass, with panoramic views of the water stretching out to the horizon. Here, you can pause to take in the serenity of the Sound, with gentle waves lapping at the shore and boats sailing in the distance.

The mix of woodland, wetlands, and coastal views, coupled with the fresh sea breeze, makes this trail an invigorating and peaceful escape from the city, perfect for nature lovers and bird watchers alike.
