Thomas Murphy has been a professional musician for 34 years.He has been teaching guitar for 26 years.Thomas started teaching at Skip's Music in Sacramento ,after a few years Thomas moved to Los Angeles and started teaching at Musicians Depot and doing private house calls.Thomas maintained a clientele of more than 70 students,among some of Thomas students were Tito Jackson (The Jackson 5), Kayley Kiyoko (Lemonade Mouth) and the kids of Eddie Money,Greg Bissonette (David Lee Roth), Wayne Gretzky.

Playing for 30 years Thomas has studied with Tommy Leavitt (Wynch), Greg Williams, Henry Robinnette,
Ross Bolton (Al Jarreau),Ted Greene. At the age of 20 Thomas attended and graduated from Musicianâ??s Institute in Hollywood, CA.There he got to study and play with greats such as Robben Ford, Paul Gilbert, Keith Wyatt, Jennifer Batten, Allen Hinds and many more.
Thomas has been playing around Los Angeles in a Funk,Soul cover band called Soul Tribe, he also plays around town in a classic rock cover band called Eighty Below.Thomas is currently recording his solo cd with Greg Bissonette (Ringo Starr), Matt Bissonette (Rick Springfield, Joe Satriani), Roger Smith (Tower of Power) and Ross Bolton (Al Jarreau)
since returning to Sacramento he has played with a variety of different bands Playing all kinds of different music.
