WHAT: ¡Descarga! Club Los Angeles proudly welcomes peermusic publishing Singer-Songwriter, MONTY, to its 2nd Saturday showcase at Little Temple in Silver Lake on May 12th. MONTY is a prolific songwriter who composes everything from Pop to Cumbia and Regional Mexican; but his love for Soul, Rock and R&B, is what inspires him most when writing material.
He recently completed the production of a full length studio album Ella, comprised entirely of his own Latin-flavored soul/R&B material; for which peermusic brought together a “dream team” to produce the new project; from music production, to the artwork and photography, and the video for the title track. Three of the new tracks on Ella were recorded in Atlanta, and were co-written and produced by “Tricky” Stewart of Redzone Entertainment (Britney Spears, Mya, Tyresse, Rihanna, Avant, and more recently Paulina Rubio). The remaining 8 tracks, were completed in Los Angeles by Grammy Winning producer Gustavo Borner (Diego Torres, Sin Bandera, and Alejandro Fernandez).

¡Descarga! is a monthly Latin music gathering for the people. This event is an alternative to the high priced commercial salsa nights that have dominated the L.A. scene for years. Resident DJ's Sloe Poke, Mando, Bobby Soul, Loslito, Azul and Mexican Dubwiser spin classic salsa and cumbia; plus merengue, punta and reggaeton in the main room and Brazilian and deep house grooves in the lounge. With live Afro-Latin bands gracing the stage at midnight at nearly every show, it has become the taste-making New York to L.A. soiree, running over 4 years strong.
