Looking for bandmates who seek to explore improvisation and music as a spiritual and entheogenic experience. My ultimate band would mix a bit of John Coltrane, a smattering of Tom Verlaine's Television, touches of Bill Evans and as much quality virtuosity as can be packed on a stage. Mahavishnu Orchestra is the closest that I've heard to this goal.
Also very open to projects involving older (pre 1930) US folk/blues music, purely Eastern jaunts involving ragas and maqams, Balkan/East European Music, and explorations into complex polyrhythms and clave rhythms.
Music is our original magic, it is our call as humans. Let us spread this magic to young people who only hear the drivel on the radio and their curated streaming service.
