ABOUT

Good day,
I am 38 years old and have been playing music since I was a young lad. I started with wood winds (clarinet) at age 9 and continued with private lessons which helped segway into 1st chair positions throughout high school and all state honors band.

During high school I experimented with various other instruments, which when I fell in love with Bass Guitar.
Coincidentally I also had an affinity for Punk Rock music and ended up starting, then "Death in Me', now "Modern Age Decline: s://./channel/UCWNV8bYYYlghQM5Q-ZMJq4A

After playing with this group for the better part of 2000-2007, I felt that Punk Rock was no longer satisfying my needs as a musician and it was time to move on.

It was then that I joined back up with a friend from my home town and started Crash Monument: s://./channel/UCeLc8b0VRxXvw6vuH2AHU5Q/featured

After a few short years, some of the members decided to focus on school at which point the singer and I started Our Brother Forest. s://./channel/UCUVvfvAHK0KJukPc-kfSC2A

Roughly two years after the start of Our Brother Forest I decided that I was ready for a change of scene and uprooted from Orange County, CA to Denver, CO. For the last few years I have moved from Colorado, back to California and then it was decided in 2018 to move to Oregon, where I currently reside.

During my transitional periods I found myself focusing more on my acoustic which helped nurture my love for folk music. This past year I have decided to refocus my attention on Bass, reinvigorating my love and focusing on filling in some of the gaps that I missed along the way. Currently my focus has been on learning, understanding and mastering Harmonic Layering - Arpeggios, Chord tones and Scales. The more we learn, the less we know and I'm finding this to be more true than ever.

I also have extensive Studio experience, not only as a musician but also as an engineer. I worked at Love Juice Laboratories in La Habra, and have worked on several projects ranging from Death Metal to Pop Punk and everything in between (jazz is by far my favorite to record).

When I'm not practicing bass, I'm jamming and learning covers on my acoustic, I love to sing any chance I get and can belt out Sea Shanty and Sea Song any day of the week.
