ABOUT

Songwriter / Singer / Guitarist – in no particular order. Looking to record primarily original music. I have probably 100 songs that need to be archived – a lot of very strong material, both vocal and instrumental... and considerably eclectic. Looking for musicians who want to do a project with significance and authenticity. Most of the music I have written would benefit from having players who are comfortable with both pop and jazz – rather sophisticated chord changes requiring a degree of nuance harmonically, as well as rhythmic sensitivity.

Influences

Too numerous and varied to mention, from 60s era British Invasion, Van Morrison, Jimi Hendrix and Joni Mitchell to Sonny Rollins, Pat Metheny, Gary Burton and Pat Metheny. Steely Dan looms large in my listening as well as Jon Scofield, who has probably been my #1 for the last 10 years or so. However, I am really driven by songs more than the artist. I'd much rather hear a great song on an acoustic guitar than a screaming solo in a 12 bar blues. Frankly, the most blues I would want to play in a 4 or 5 hour gig would be one or two songs. No offense to you blues hounds, I just prefer to play more variety and more varied chord changes.

EQUIPMENT

My most important piece of equipment is my music room – The Exquisitarium (XQ). It is large and wonderful. It even houses my crown-powered PA with (4) Bose 802s and (4) 15" subs (reasonably portable). I have lots of electric and acoustic guitars, and a considerable amount of studio and midi gear.
