MADISON, Wis. - A 15-year-old boy is accused of robbing another teenager at knifepoint Monday night, police said.
Madison police said a 15-year-old was arrested on suspicion of an armed robbery Monday night after another teen reported being robbed of his cellphone earlier in the day.
The 14-year-old boy is acquainted with the suspected robber, and had attempted to get his phone back without police assistance. Officers learned onlookers were watching the teens fight in the 6200 block of Strathmore Lane just after 5:30 p.m. as the alleged victim attempted to get his phone returned.
Residents reported the disturbance to police, and said there was a large number of people in the roadway.
The robber left the area before officers were on scene. They set up a perimeter near his home and he was taken into custody following a foot chase.
