I am looking for a bass guitar player in their 20's who can sing (at least backup). Backup vocals are required and another singer would be welcome. It would be nice if you could sing a song or two during a long set. Harmonies would be great. Some contacts and songwriting would be helpful but not required. But you do have to like performing original complex songs with melody and rhythm and have the chops to go with it.
I am the lead singer/songwriter/frontman/keyboard player) in my late 20s in an original Alternative/ Modern/ Classic Rock band that is piano-driven fused with soul, funk and blues. I was in a band for 7 years that I left because I was the only one who wanted to put in the necessary work. I just finished a national tour this past Fall and Winter, and will play nationally heading east to New York for a month of New York City dates and will then play up and down the West Coast this summer. I have the voice, the sound, the writing, the look, and have been setting up my tours mostly myself. I have played Staples Center in LA and Madison Square Garden (opening for The Who) in NY.
At the shows, I like to open up the tunes a bit to improv/controlled jams to showcase the musicality of the band and rock out a bit for the show-goers. So I need someone who can really play, and is comfortable taking a solo or two.

Influences
The Beatles, Stones, Zep, Queen, Paul Simon, Floyd, CSNY, Bob Dylan, etc. I'm also way into funky, bluesy, soul-y acts such as Ray Charles, Sam and Dave, Motown stuff, and jam bands like the Dead, Allman bros, and Phish. There's not a ton of modern stuff that I love, but I'm into what Jack White's doing, Black Keys, Beck, Arcade Fire, Some Radiohead and others. I like all kinds of music, but those are generally my writing influences. All that said, I do have my own distinct and modern/fresh sound, but it does have an "old-soul, organic" quality to it.
