Influences

: I played in several local bands all through high school. At age 19 I started my professional career playing with the 1950’s recording artist Lloyd Price. Shortly after that I moved to Los Angeles where I landed a gig with a band that toured all of the United States and Canada for four years. After that band retired I moved back to Los Angeles where my career accelerated with several bands and recording opportunities. I joined a newly formed band called The Prairie Nights who became quickly known as the next Alabama and were signed by two major record labels. We played many large venues including the Palomino Club in North Hollywood which we packed. In my 11 years in Los Angeles, I played or recorded with several famous musicians. A few of these were: Chuck Berry, Vince Gill, Albert Lee, JD Maness, Greg Leisz, Garth Hudson, Sneaky Pete, Redd Volkaert, Byron Berline, Wayne Addleman and Tennessee Ernie Ford. I returned to the Philadelphia area in 1989 and continued my professional full time career playing and recording with such well known local bands as The Johnston Brothers and the Manatees for many years.
