Nahi Gru?v is an ambitious attempt to bring together not only a myriad of styles, but also varied demographics of people. The founding members had been trying to find musicians who could not only have Pop sensibilities; lyrically as well as in arrangement, but wanted to also add the sophistication of Jazz in chord structure, musicianship and improvisation. The group plays many styles and does them with such a broad feel that each song flows beautifully into the next, in spite of the differing genres. There are catchy melodies married with chords that envelope you and pull you along. You will get to hear vocals and lyrical poetry and then be entranced by instrumentalists soloing with voices that keeps the music jazzy while still telling the story.

Members Of Band

Donnie Sowell(Bass Guitar, vox) and Walter S. Hemingway(Lead Vox, Percussion) come from the long-standing Columbia, SC party band, The Root Doctors. Alon Segal (keyboards, vox) is a jazz influenced musician from Israel. James Meredith (lead and rhythm guitars) brings a great jazz tone to rhythm and eclectic styles to his lead improv. Younger members include Rod Johnson(drums) who has a church background and has an extremely musical style. Also introducing diva/songstress Kanika “Kay Kay” Moore. Kay Kay brings a youthful vocal style with flavors steeped in old-school sensuality.
