I was born in Louisiana, and raised here my whole life. Between both parents being on various drugs, and being in and out of prison, it's almost needless to say they were unfit to raise me. My grandparents were up for the challenge however, and took my sister and I in. I was just a baby, and don't remember much before then, so they are like my real parents. My sister, Sara, was soon diagnosed with a rare type of brain cancer. I was told that only 4 children in the world had it at that time, and it was terminal. Sara eventually passed away at the age of 8 years old. My other sister, Tennille, from a different mother was much older than me, and did not live with me. So this left me as an only child.

I was raised in the church, and we were back and forth. Honestly, I did not really get settled into a church until around the age of 14, which was the age when I was saved. At the age of 15 my sister bought me a guitar for my birthday, and I started to pick around on it a bit. Never in my dreams did I think it would go any further than that, but it eventually did. I was bringing my guitar to church to just play. Never had I sung before, and had never sung in front others. However, I was encouraged and lifted up by others. They insured me that I wasn't a bad singer and that was good enough for me. I began from playing worship music in the church, to playing in a small worship band named "Higher Ground". We toured around, and played shows, and eventually broke up our senior year of High School.

Skipping ahead, after senior year in 2011 I joined the US Army NG at 17, and attended basic training in Oklahoma. I attended advanced training, and became a Signal Support Specialist, AKA Radio Guy. By the time all my training was done, I found out I was being deployed to Kuwait. I was 19 when this took place, and the deployment was a year all together counting the three months for training. The deployment took its toll and shook my faith, but I lead worship in the small chapel that was set up. I honestly believe God put me there. I saw so many come to Christ through my music, and the word of God. I’ve seen more grown men and women cry than I would have ever foreseen. So many were hurting, broken, and in pain. Being far away from home only added fuel to fire. It was so amazing how God used me and I think about it every day.

I’m excited to see what God is doing with me now. I won't stop now, and I believe it’s his will to see me do his work. God’s word just flows when I write, and when I play. So I want to move where he moves. Stay where he stays. We are all missionaries if we are in Christ. That's who I am, a missionary, a living testimony to Gods grace.
