Keyboardist / vocalist interested in collaborating with all kinds of players to remotely compose and record fusion originals. I played professionally for 12 years in a number of progressive rock bands in the 70’s and 80’s and continued to play solo jazz occasionally until getting into home recording as a hobby in 2012. Today, using a mix of digital, analog, and virtual synthesizers, I can produce a wide range of instruments and styles to complement whatever you bring to the table. Fusion tunes I've recorded range from modern electronica and art rock to downtempo jazz and classic prog rock.

The way I see it, fusion doesn't mean playing a lot of notes really fast, although that can certainly happen. It doesn't mean the music has to have complex rhythms or fancy chord progressions. And, it doesn't mean it must only be instrumental - voices are instruments, too. What it should have is something surprising that evokes a feel or emotion not offered by traditional styles. For me, this involves the fusing of different musical genres, instruments, cultural elements, and production techniques to create something different and new, yet somehow familiar. I enjoy fusion cuisine for the same reason.

To collaborate remotely, you need a basic home recording setup and ability to write simple chord charts. You record along with a track and chart I provide or you give me a chart and tracks synched to a beat against which I record my tracks. Together, we can take a production from composition to mix and final master without ever being in the same location.

This is strictly for fun - not a paid gig either way, but you can certainly sell any tracks you've written; use them as a demo; or simply keep them in your family as a musical legacy. So, if you're a talented musician and want to collaborate to compose and record fusion originals, message me to discuss.
