Job Description:
The Minister of Music will work under the direct supervision and authority of the Senior Pastor and Director of Music and Arts in helping to develop the music ministry of the church. He/she will also assist the Director of Music and Arts in the overall planning, staffing, and administration of worship services and music programs. In addition, he/she will assist the Director of Music and Arts in identifying, recruiting, training, and equipping other spiritually qualified and gifted individuals to become involved in the Music Department.
Key Responsibilities:
Plays for the Praise Team and Choir
Practices with musicians and singers
Plans and teaches songs and musical parts
Communicates to the band and coordinates with them
Develops and sends set list and links to singers, band members, and AV team
Develops singers' and musicians' abilities through vocal training and exercises
The Minister of Music:
Attends all rehearsals and services
Attends all special services and events
Arrives before practice and service to ensure set up and begin promptly as well as end promptly
Agrees and adheres to the vision of the Senior Pastor and the Director of Music and Arts
Meets with the Director of Music and Arts Monthly
Is theologically solid and spiritually sound
Is well trained to correctly decipher and give out notes
Is the lead musician
Is an experienced keyboardist
Strengthens singers and musicians by helping them to grow in their spiritual formation
