I love to sing - especially Indie-Folk and Bluegrass / Americana, and its kind of a bucket list thing to attempt to play with a band. Check out the songs "One of Those Days" by Eilen Jewell and "Drinkin Dark Whiskey" by Steeldrivers". If they interest you, we could enjoy jamming out I think....
My father was a pianist and musical conneisier / composer and I developed my love of music from him. I played and sang in choir in school, and I grew up playing bluegrass with my cousins, so I guess you could say music has always been a part of my life. I continue to play with them periodically into adulthood. We always jam at family reunions and a couple of different cousins have had bands and/or are currently in professional gigs. Recently, the unofficial leader - the glue - the man who kept our family's traditions going - tragically passed away, and I guess I'm searching for a new niche. Karoke ain't cuttin it.
Mainly I would just like to jam out and hopefully eventually get to sing songs that suit me best - primarily for fun. As I run a business, I cannot commit to practice more than once or twice a month, and would have to cross the "performing" bridge if and when we got there. But I do have a couple of girlfriends who sing very well and might join occasionally if needed. More importantly, I have a shop at which to practice. There are a couple of different opportunities in this area for periodic (low pay lol) gigs and I'd love to help develop that simply for my love of the music - whether or not I can attend.
