ABOUT

Currently I'm a student at Suffolk University but other than that association I'm not from the New England area. I'm originally from Georgia (I'm a big Bulldogs fan). Coming up I was alway around music plus my mom played 5 different instruments so it was inevitable that I'd pick up and instrument at some point. When I was in the 6th Grade I started playing saxophone in school all they way though 12th Grade. This spawned into gaining a lot of experience in live performance and music theory. But saxophone, even though it was the first instrument I choose, wasn't the instrument that really spoke to me. It was really the bass guitar that got me excited about music. So eventually after begging my mom I received my first bass when I was in the 8th grade. I never received any formal training on the instrument but none the less I tried to play as much as possible. But due to life and all of it's wonderful ups and downs I never got to enjoy and really learn the instrument until recently (6 years in the military later). I have an awesome teacher by the name of Frank Ojeda and I'm back at it and full of passion. I consider myself a dedicated musician and look forward to eventually being apart of something artistic and influential some day. So I'm always down to jam, learn, enjoy and network.

I currently now play with a multi genre band by the name of "Dred Wisely." We are currently looking for a singer to complete the outfit. Since we do not stick to one genre your background does not matter. Myself and my counterparts enjoy many different styles. So if you are interested please let me know.

Influences

My influences vary from Stanley Clarke and Jaco Pastorius to Thundercat (Tha Beast) and Micheal League (Snarky Puppy). I love jazz down to the deepest parts of my soul. I'm a huge fan of Charles Mingus, Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, George Duke and The Meters. And I'm very inspired by the new movement of Jazz musician coming up now such as Kamasi Washington, etc. When I was in middle school and in high school I was very drawn to bands such as Fall of Troy, System of Down, Rage Against the Machines, Incubus, 311, The Weather Report and many, many more. There is just too much to list.
