I'm looking for someone who's interested in a garage rock style and wants to meet up 1-2 times a week in Astoria for rehearsals. I've included a playlist of things that I've done. Some of these recordings are temps I've made in Logic, and some are from my previous band the 'Lazy Susans'. I'm looking to build on the style we did in that group and bring it to a higher level.
Here's a mission statement:
Songs
Unpretentious, Simple, Bold, Loud. Solid hooks. Distorted Guitar and Vocal driven. High tempo, feedback, noise. Unexpected twists and turns, but the building blocks are well-known rock and punk tropes- sliced and glued together like a ransom note.
Experience
Should sound brutally rock and roll, with vibrance, jittery energy and an addictive feel. Fist-pumping, Head banging- toe tapping.
