I am originally from Seattle and recently moved to Portland to pursue a master’s degree in jazz performance at Portland State University. Prior to the move I was a middle school band director in Snohomish, WA and was a regular member of Seattle funk bands Battlestar Kalakala and the Braxmatics. I can play by ear and can also read music very well. I am proficient on clarinet, saxophone, and flute, and can improvise in any genre. My goal is to meet as many musicians as I can while I’m here and find a couple groups to perform with regularly. I am also interested in putting together a jazz quartet with piano, bass, and drums and musical theater gigs.
