I've been playing guitar for the past 4-5 years. I enjoy learning by playing with other musicians who are better than I am, but believe they can still offer something to learn even if they are on a similar level. I'm always practicing singing, though I'm more confident in my guitar playing abilities. I play other instruments on the side for fun; I practice bass a bit and write lines for recordings, drums from time to time, and mess around with other instruments like keyboard or accordion.
For the past 2-3 years I was playing with a band writing original music. I'm looking for a fairly dedicated band (or other musicians to start a band) with somewhat similar tastes in music, though diversity is great as well; it's more about compatibility. When writing music with others I like to create something unique to myself and the musicians I am playing with in a collaborative experience (not to say I'm against playing parts written by someone else). I love writing a part and having someone else to add to it, shape it, or even take it in a direction that I didn't expect. I want to make music that sounds creative, interesting, and original.
