Looking for blues or classic rock band. I have a raw and high energy playing style and I am looking to play music with attitude. I would rather not play phish or grateful dead covers. However, I love just about every other 60s to mid 70s "classic rock" band and would he happy to play covers from this era, or better yet, original music influenced by it. I like playing funk riffs as well (chili peppers style mostly), and I am good with a wa peddle.
I used to play with a band called Essence of Ape when I lived in Michigan. We played originals mostly, and recorded a CD. People said we sounded like the Red Hot Chili Peppers, but generally we played more bluesishly. Here's our : /essenceofape - our demo is on there (4 songs). We played some pretty cool shows: blind pig (ann arbor MI), MAC's (east lansing MI), Emerald theatre (Mt. Clemens MI), and the Royal Oak Music Theatre - here to about 400 people. That was cool . . .
Before that I played with some high school buddies in a ska band called The Unpossibles. We did our thing but never played that many shows. Ska was cool enough to dance to but got repetitive and I got bored playing upbeats every song.
The recordings I have here are me with my boss 4 track digital. I don't have the equipment or really the knowledge to make the quality perfect. All original material at least though, and I got the guitar to sound pretty good. Vocals, eh . . . I'm not the greatest singer and I didn't do enough takes to get it all sounding that good. But its not terrible; people seem to like it so enjoy.
