SEEKING
Band to Join, Electronic Music.ABOUT
My intrests grow out of creating experimental/electronic music in the academic "avant guard" tradition using modular synthesizers beginning in the 1970s. I quickly tired of the studio environment and wanted to master the challenge of performing abstract, electronic music in live, structured Improv settings. It seems there is not much interest in this kind of music here in the 757. But ...as Popeye says, "I Yam what I Yam!" I would like to find those rare musicians who want to go outside of the commercial formulas and chart some new sonic territories.

Influences
I played synthesizers (not necessarily keyboards), percussion and allsorts with Alex & Nels Cline in their early years (in "Spiral"). They remain a great influence on me. Other influences include early electronic music and musique concrete (Morton Subotnick, John Cage, Stockhausen, Edgard Varese, Piere Henry, etc.), and ambient music. I still love early progressive rock (Yes, King Crimson, Genesis, etc.). I am currently moving toward middle-era King Crimson style, particularly the Jamie Muir years a kind of ...electro/acoustic power-ambient percussion style.
